As the Senior Packaging Engineer, I invented packaging that improved the Direct-to-Garment printing process, created interactive displays for demos, designed and hand-crafted sample boxes to showcase proprietary garment samples, and assisted the Hardware Engineering team with a range of projects. I created sheet metal components, led brainstorming sessions, and created branded collateral (hang tags, printed assets, swatch cards, etc.) to round out sample kits. My understanding of the apparel industry and my packaging design expertise allowed me to be a pivotal member of their engineering team.
I’m happy to share more about my experience in person. For more information, please inquire. Thank you!
I spent over 6 weeks at our supplier overseas to roll out a new product line. There was a need for a business line of sock that could be easily customized for the promotional product and retail channels. The sock had to look, feel and wear like a standard dress sock while utilizing existing materials and embellishment processes.
Multiple iterations were produced to ensure that the sock wasn’t too thick to slide into a dress shoe, strong enough to withstand multiple wears and comfortable.
The socks are produced on flat knit 144 needle machines utilizing stock colors of cotton, polyester, spandex and rubber. A row of white polyester is knit into the leg of the sock so that these socks can be easily dye-sublimated and customized.
Attention was given to how the final product was packaged to ensure that the customer would know it was a dress sock just by how it looked and even felt in packaging. Tissue paper and a classic header card is inserted into the socks to mimic traditional dress sock packaging.
15 different styles were created, in conjunction with the sales team, to ensure that our customers could find a color-way that would work for their brand, team or project.
Big Heart Pet Brands was introducing the new Milk-Bone Brushing Chews and needed a way to exhibit them at the stores. The display needed to showcase all the different sizes of the Brushing Chews with ample amount of graphic space.
I had designed two different PDQs (Pretty Darn Quick displays) because different stores had varying amounts of shelf space, I designed a 36" and a 48" version that held the same amount of product but allowed the larger PDQ to have more graphic space.
Big Heart Pet Brands contacted us to design a display that would showcase a variety of Milk-Bone Dog Biscuits. The display needed to be eye catching and be able to support the dog biscuits.
The old design was very square and there wasn't anything exciting about its appearance. I wanted to design a display unlike anything I had seen before so I came up with a very angular design. The 90 degree folds allow the display to hold a heavy load with less material. This allows for the shipper to hold more material since it couldn't weigh more than 50 lbs.
After backpacking around South America for a few weeks, I knew the ins and outs of my backpack. There were really positive aspects of the bag but it definitely had some downfalls. I wanted to design a travel backpack that took the good features while fixing the negative ones.
